  • Special Issue 1 (October 2025)
    Vol. 9 No. S1 (2025)

This special issue of Sociology and Social Work Review explores the complex and multidimensional phenomenon of gender-based violence (GBV), focusing on responsibility, prevention, response, and action-oriented strategies. The contributions bring together interdisciplinary perspectives from sociology, social work, health sciences, and related fields, examining both structural and individual dimensions of violence. The issue addresses key themes such as accountability and prevention, survivor experiences and recovery processes, institutional and cultural dynamics, and the role of policy and practice in responding to GBV. Particular attention is given to emerging forms of violence in digital environments, the intersection of gender with other axes of inequality, and the importance of coordinated, cross-sectoral responses. The articles included in this issue provide both theoretical insights and empirical findings, contributing to a deeper understanding of gender-based violence and offering evidence-based approaches for intervention and social change. The issue is edited by Prof. Giuseppina Cersosimo (University of Salerno, Italy).
