Peer Review Process

Sociology and Social Work Review follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research.

Initial Screening

All submissions are first evaluated by the editorial team to determine their suitability for the journal’s scope, originality, and basic methodological soundness. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards may be rejected without external review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers. The review process is double-blind, meaning that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

Review Criteria

Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • originality and contribution to the field

  • methodological rigor

  • clarity of presentation

  • relevance to the journal’s scope

  • ethical compliance

Review Outcomes

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor may decide:

  • accept

  • accept with minor revisions

  • revise and resubmit

  • reject

Revision Process

Authors are required to address reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation.

Final Decision

The final decision on publication is made by the editor, taking into account the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial standards.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers and editors must not disclose any information about submissions.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers and editors must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the review process if necessary.

Review Timeline

The journal aims to complete the peer review process within 4–8 weeks, although this may vary depending on the availability of reviewers.
